What is a witness? A witness is simply someone who speaks from personal experience about what is true. They can testify when something happened, who was involved, how it unfolded, what happened, where it took place and why they think it happened. Those 6-key aspects are important in establishing the accuracy or truthfulness of something. These were important for the disciples as they were commissioned to go and tell everyone about Jesus. And, in fact, we’re going to see all 6 of those key aspects in today’s text. So let’s find out what being a witness for Christ is all about. God bless you! Apr 10 – Heb 11:21-40 – Great Examples of Faith, Pt 2
Wednesday Apr 10, 2024
Wednesday Apr 10, 2024
In last week’s study the writer gave us examples of faithful obedience leading to God’s blessings. Those cases were mostly general, where a willingness to trust God was weighed against an uncertain future. In today’s passage, however, we are shown men and women who chose to trust God despite immediate, personal hardships. This, as well, is a crucial aspect of faith, which the writer has already defined as a confident trust in God.. Thanks for listening. Blessings and love in Christ! Apr 3 – Heb 11:1-20 – Great Examples of Faith, Pt 1
Wednesday Apr 03, 2024
Wednesday Apr 03, 2024
True, godly faith is defined as trust, relying on God when looking to the future and obeying even when we don’t fully understand all details. The great figures of the Old Testament, such as Abraham, Moses and David, all lived according to this type of faith. Ultimately, that means trusting God’s intent to make good on His promises from an eternal perspective. The model of faith presented by those people, in light of the struggles they faced, ought to inspire Christians towards a more confident, purposeful faith. Thanks for listening.
