Wednesday Feb 15, 2023
The opening verses of chapter 12 contain Paul's description of an astonishing experience. He was transported, in some sense, to the third heaven or paradise, where he received an unspeakable revelation from God. And to keep him humble afterwards, God gave him a “thorn in the flesh” and refused to remove it despite Paul's pleas. What was the vision all about and why did God refuse to remove the “thorns”? All that and more on our journey today. Thanks for listening, God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

Today we’re going to find that Paul adopted the tactics of the false teachers in Corinth in order to show that they shouldn’t be trusted. By acting like the false teachers, Paul helped to show the Corinthians that these teachers really didn’t care about the Gospel or them at all—while that was the only thing that Paul was concerned with. Stay tuned and let’s find out more. Thanks for listening, God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

God is the Divine Gardener who has our spiritual growth as His ultimate goal. He’ll use anything in our lives to shape us into the people that He wants us to be. If there is something in our lives that is unhealthy for us, God will want to prune it. If there is something in our lives that is good but not the best, God will want to prune it. Wednesday Jan 18, 2023
Wednesday Jan 18, 2023
Welcome to Part 2 of this study of 2 Cor 10 where Paul is defending his authority. Last week we covered verses 1-9. Today we’ll finish up with verses 10-18. We’re going to find that the situation in the Corinthian church had forced Paul to set aside his conviction about boasting in order to save the church from ruin. By touting his credentials—credentials the Corinthians should have recognized in the first place—Paul hoped to discredit the false teachers who had infiltrated the church. Jan 11 – 2 Corinthians – Pt 15– Paul Defends His Authority - Pt 1
Wednesday Jan 11, 2023
Wednesday Jan 11, 2023
Because this is a long chapter we’ve divided it into two studies. Today we’ll be covering 2 Cor 10:1-9 and next week we’ll finish up chapter 10 with verses 10-18. In chapter 10 Paul changes his tone from conciliatory to severe. There were some critics in Corinth who pointed out that Paul had the ability to express himself very well in written form. But they claimed that though his letters were potent his outward appearance was very meek and mild, which was a true contradiction in their eyes. But Paul warned against judging people by what was on the outside and insisted that he only worked for the glory of the Lord. Let’s find out more together. Thanks for listening, God bless you! Jan 4 – 2 Corinthians – Pt 14– Sowing Generosity
Wednesday Jan 04, 2023
Wednesday Jan 04, 2023
Welcome once again and Happy New Year! Today’s text reminds the Corinthians of their initial enthusiasm for the Jerusalem collection and of their delight that God could use them to help other believers. Their enthusiasm was contagious. But a year has passed and Paul was worried that the Corinthians would give grudgingly now as their enthusiasm waned. Why does God want us to be cheerful givers and enthusiastic team players and not selfish and disgruntled givers? Great question—let’s find out the answer to that and more.
