What Stephen does in Acts 7 is masterful as he retells the history of God’s people, drawing a line from Abraham to the present day. He quotes extensively from the Old Testament to show how far they had fallen. This is the longest sermon in the Book of Acts and is saturated with Scripture. Every point he made was backed up in the Bible, which is an obvious application for each of us. We’ll also see how the Christian message is fully consistent with, and is the fulfillment of, the Old Testament. Get your Bible of Bible app ready and let’s go! Thanks for listening. God bless you! Our values and priorities are reflected in how we use our resources—time, money, strength and talent. Often our actions contradict our words. We say God is number one, but then we relegate Him to a lesser number on our “to do” lists. 25-Centuries ago, a voice was heard, calling men and women to the right priorities. Haggai knew what was important and what had to be done and he challenged God’s people to respond. Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

Last week we were introduced to Stephen who became a key player in resolving an internal conflict in the church. Now Stephen is about to find himself in severe opposition with those outside the church. How did he respond when the people pushed back? There are several things we can learn from him so let’s talk about it. Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

The Edomites were blood relatives of Israel. As the nation of Babylon invaded Judah, the Edomites, of all people, should have rushed to help their brothers and sisters. But instead they gloated over their problems, captured and delivered the Israelites to the Babylonians and even looted their towns. And because of their indifference and defiance of God Obadiah would now deliver the message that they stood condemned and would be destroyed. Thanks for watching. Blessings and love in Christ!

The early Christian church had a big problem. People’s needs were not being met and it led to some hard feelings. In fact, the problem threatened to split the church right down the middle and kill it in its infancy. Only, the church found a way to deal with the problem. And instead of splitting and dying, they grew even bigger and stronger. How did they do it? Let’s find out. Thanks for listening. God bless you! Welcome to Part 2 of our study of Joel. Joel’s message to Judah (and to us) is reaching its end. He has described the Immediate Day of the Lord, the terrible plague of the locusts. This led to a description of the Imminent Day of the Lord, the impending invasion of the Assyrian army. All that remains is for him to describe the Ultimate Day of the Lord when God will judge all the nations of the earth. Thanks for watching. Blessings and love in Christ!

The explosive growth of the church led to various reactions from the religious leaders. In today’s text, Acts 5:33-42, we’ll see three reactions from the religious leaders as the Apostles refused to stop speaking about Jesus and two incredible responses from the Apostles. And we’ll also see that God uses people and problems to accomplish His purposes. Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

The Book of Joel is a timeless call to repentance with the promise of blessing. Just as the people faced tragedy with their crops being destroyed, we too will face tragic judgment if we continue in sin. Because there is so much to talk about I’ve divided this study into two parts. Today we’ll study The Immediate and Imminent Days of the Lord (Joel 1 through Joel 2:27. And next week we’ll conclude with The Ultimate Day of the Lord (Joel 2:28-3:21). Thanks for listening. Blessings and love in Christ! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

As we continue our Journey Through the Book of Acts, we come to another outbreak of persecution against the early church in Acts 5:17-32. So here’s how we’re going to approach this passage. First, we’re going to walk through the passage, so we learn it. Then we’ll allow the passage to walk through us as we seek to live it. Thanks for listening. God bless you! Zephaniah warned the people of Judah that if they refused to repent, the entire nation, including the city of Jerusalem would be lost. The people knew that God would eventually bless them, but Zephaniah made it clear that there would be judgment first, then blessing. God does not take sin lightly and it will be punished. But be encouraged by the word of hope—our God reigns and He will rescue His own. Thanks for listening. Blessings and love in Christ! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.
