Dec 10 – God With Us – Pt 3, The Promise of Joy
Sunday Dec 10, 2023
Sunday Dec 10, 2023
Joy is a lot like puppies. Fortunately, it’s not as hairy and doesn’t make a mess—joy is boundless and uncontainable. Joy overflows and when you’ve experienced joy, you want to share it with someone else—or as many people as you can. Joy bubbles over and touches everyone it comes in contact with. Joy is what we are celebrating on this third Sunday of Advent, The Promise of Joy. Today we’re going to look closer at Elizabeth, Zechariah’s wife, because in the story of God With Us, she deeply experienced joy in the midst of the miraculous events she found herself suddenly in the middle of. But to understand Elizabeth’s joy, we have to understand a little bit about her pain. So let’s talk about it. Thanks for listening. God bless you! Wednesday Dec 06, 2023
Wednesday Dec 06, 2023
Today in Chapter 5:1-12 we’re going to study two more incredible topics: A Warning to the Rich and Patience in Suffering. In a nutshell here’s what we’ll be talking about: Wealth can be a great blessing when it’s used in a way that’s pleasing to God. Unfortunately, wealth can also be abused as people use the power that money brings to exercise control over others. However, one day there will be a Day of Judgment and God hears the cries of the oppressed. In the meantime, James encourages us to be patient as we wait for the Lord’s return. Thanks for listening. Nov 29 – Pt 10 – James – Submitting Yourselves to God & Trusting God in Making Plans
Wednesday Nov 29, 2023
Wednesday Nov 29, 2023
Submission and Trust—now there are two words that are often very challenging for us. Submission is a word that is often misunderstood and not just in the context of marriage but the overall context of submitting to God. What does it mean to submit oneself to God? And there’s that word trust. Again, many people have different ideas of what trust means especially when trust in another person is difficult. When you make plans do you talk to God about them? Do you trust Him to guide you in your plans? There’s a lot for us to talk about today so settle back and let’s get to it. Thanks for listening. Blessings and love in Christ!
