May 24 – 2 Peter, Pt 11 – Imposters in the Church

We know that in the Old Testament there were false prophets that were attempting to lead Israel away from God. Peter will also remind us today that there would be false teachers rising up from within the early church as well. He said that many believers would follow them in ignorance and taint the reputation of established doctrines. Peter also said these false teachers would be greedy and lying and the consequences of their destructive behaviors would be God’s severe judgment on them.
