Oct 5 – 2 Corinthians – Pt 4 – Ministers of the New Covenant

Today we’re going to start by talking about how Paul was so plagued with concern over Titus’s welfare and the status of the Corinthian church that he passed over a definite opportunity to preach the Gospel in Troas (2:12-13). I don’t think many missionaries would to write that kind of a report to their supporters—definitely not a good look. Oct 2 – God Goes to War – Pt 7

The book of Revelation is about a war to end all wars. Have you ever heard of the word Armageddon? Armageddon means: the last battle between good and evil before the Day of Judgment. And it will take place on the Plain of Esdraelon, south of present-day Haifa in Israel—a place known as Megiddo. So what Armageddon means for us? Sep 28 – 2 Corinthians – Pt 3 – Forgiveness for the Sinner

After explaining in general terms why he had delayed his visit to Corinth, Paul addressed the specific confrontation that most likely had led to his decision to cancel his visit. Paul doesn’t name the offender who had caused the trouble the last time he was in Corinth, but he does instruct the church on how to handle this man. It was essential that the church act quickly to forgive and restore this man, while he was still repentant. Why was that important? And how does it relate to the church today? Sep 25 – God Goes to War – Pt 6

Today we’ll be speaking to you from Rev 8 and the fact that “We Are the Army of God”. And as such our war is a spiritual war against the gates of hell with the intention of capturing the hearts of people held under Satan’s power and influence. Sep 21 – 2 Corinthians – Pt 2 – Paul Changes His Plans

After praising God for the comfort the Lord had shown him in his most recent trials, Paul started to explain his most recent travel plants to the Corinthians. In 1 Cor Paul had told the Corinthians he would visit them after traveling through Macedonia (1 Cor 16:5-7). Since that time he altered his travel plans. Last week we talked about Rev 6 and the main thrust was the wrath of God—God’s judgment on those who’ve persecuted and killed HIS people. Today we’re jumping ahead a bit to chapter 12. Now understanding Rev 12 all depends on what criteria you use to establish when the prophecy in this chapter will, or has, taken place. Welcome to our brand new study of 2 Corinthians. This must have been a difficult letter for Paul to write as there were attacks on his character and authority. And although he wanted to rejoice with the Corinthians in their spiritual growth, he didn’t shrink from asserting his authority and disciplining those who needed it. Rev 6 has some amazing imagery in it with the Lamb ripping open the first 6-seals of the scroll. Then what is commonly referred to as the 4-horsemen appear and each of them are dispatched to carry out some pretty scary stuff. And while those images are powerful we’re not going to spend time on them directly. You see we believe that all those images point to the main message of this chapter which is God’s judgment on those who’ve persecuted and killed HIS people. Sep 4 – God Goes to War – Pt 3

Most of us have a picture in our minds of what Jesus looks like. But usually we would never think of Jesus looking like what John describes in Rev 5. He sees a lamb. And there is nothing normal about the lamb. It appeared to be bleeding with 7 horns and 7 eyes—this is NOT how we would picture Jesus at all. So is this really how Jesus looks? Let’s find out. Aug 31 – 1 Corinthians – Pt 13 – The Resurrection Body

As Paul concludes this book of 1 Corinthians, he challenges us to think about eternity. Because of Christ we have victory over death and we can focus our lives on making an impact for the kingdom of God.
